Results from State 4-H Roundup

Mollie Malone and Heather Rowe represented Rockwall County at State 4-H Roundup in the Share the Fun Division.  Heather competed in the Choreographed Routine Division.  Her dance was designed around the song "We Didn't Start the Fire".  Heather was very impressive with her routine!  She was one of 12 acts from across the entire state to compete.

Mollie competed in the Vocal Division of Share the Fun.  She gave a rousing rendition of "The Girl in 14G".  Mollie captured the attention of everyone including the judges.  She won 1st place!  Congratulations.  We hope to have a video of the presentation to add to the blog soon.

Representing Rockwall  County in the Quilt Challenge were two entries.  We had a team entry by Sarah DiGirolamo, Haley Sachse, & Emily Ullom.  We had an individual entry by Tanner Howey.  The Team entry won 10th place out of 55 entries. The Quilt Challenge is an invitational contest which means members of all ages are eligible to participate.

Congratulations to everyone who competed!  What a super experience.

4-H Summer Party Egg Roll

Everyone had a great time at the summer gathering at Harry Myers Park.  If you missed it, you missed an egg of a time.  Though it wasn't a true egg roll, there were tossed eggs, cracked eggs, broken eggs, and dumped eggs.  Thanks for the games provided by the clubs.  Thanks also to the adults and youth who provided leadership for the event.  If you want to be part of the planning of county activities plan to be a part of the Parents and Adult Leaders Group that meets or be a participant in county council.  Here are a few pics from the event.  There will be more to come.  Hope your summer is starting off super.

If you have pics that would be great for promotional use, please either have your club manager upload them to this blog or email them to us here at the Extension office.
