Rockwall Christmas Parade

Rockwall Kiawana's International Chapter hosted the 2012 parade on Saturday December 1.  Thankfully it wasn't 25 degrees as it was a couple of years ago.  It was a rather nice morning for such an event.   4-H had the Mobile Learning Laboratory on site offering refreshments for purchase.  It was a great time for engaging the public.  Thanks to Casey Ceiszinski  and Suzy Carr for heading it up and for all of the volunteers who secured items for the concession stand and/or helped during the event. This year two high school young men announced the parade. When the started to welcome the crowd to the parade, the first sentenced included thanks to the 4-H program for the concession stand.  HOW COOL!  We received mention through out the parade.  We also had the opportunity to talk with potential 4-H families.

We had 4-H members all through out the parade with some in drill teams, in bands, other clubs and then of course, the 4-H Float.  Thanks to everyone who made this possible.  Thanks to Kevin Conner for the trailer, and driving the float in the Parade.  Thanks to all the parents and 4-Hers who helped decorate the float and everyone who rode the float.  It was very cool.

We also had horses following the float.  It was a great experience.  Thanks for everyone involved.

October with the Lucky Shamrocks

October was a great month for the Lucky Shamrocks. We had our monthly meeting at Britt Training Systems,207 County Line Road Rockwall, TX 75032, on October 16th. We had thirteen members and seventeen adults in attendance. We discussed the following: archery practices, volunteer opportunity, consumer decision making,Veterinary science project and shooting sports practices.  Our program on Parliamentary Procedure was lead by Olivia Britt and Bradley Simpson.  The group made a trail mix using parliamentary procedure. The ingredients were corn chex, M&M's,chocolate chips,peanuts,cheez-its and a bottle of water. I still am not sure why they did not want to add water to the mix(LOL). On October 27th we met at Blue Ridge Riding Club for archery practice hosted by Collin County 4-H. We had eight members and ten Rockwall County adults  in attendance. We are looking forward to a great November.
